The Adelphi University Department of Anthropology offers individualized undergraduate training for the 21st century. Our faculty incorporate undergraduates in a variety of research opportunities including ethnography, site excavation, forensic and artifact analyses, climate and human ecological studies. Our students gain practical experience in research, written and oral communication, and analytical skills. Students graduate with an understanding of the pressing issues that face our global community and with highly marketable skill sets, as demonstrated by our alumni, who are successfully employed in a wide range of occupations. Our intensive focus on undergraduate education is demonstrated by a strong record of graduate admissions and successful employment.

Program Details
Research Facilities Osteological laboratory with collections from the eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Asia for applied undergraduate research in biological anthropology, paleopathology, and forensics focusing on cremations. Archaeology laboratory for training students in Geographic Information Systems and artifact analysis.
Collections Archaeological collections from prehistoric sites in Alaska Bio-archaeological collections from Crete and the greater Mediterranean area.
