The 2020 Annual Meeting is cancelled, but that does not mean we will remain silent. This fall, we’re asking YOU to raise your voice on issues of research, scholarship, and practice that matter in this historic moment during “RAISING OUR VOICES 2020,” an online event held November 5 – 14 with live, interactive participation as well as view-on-demand. https://www.americananthro.org/RAISINGOURVOICES

Join the American Anthropological Association and thousands of anthropologists for the 2020 AAA Annual Meeting on November18-22, 2020. Build lasting connections, uncover new career and mentoring opportunities, and explore the latest research. This year’s theme is “Truth and Responsibility” and is a call to reimagine anthropology to meet the demands of the present moment. The imperative to bear witness, take action, and be held accountable to the truths we write and circulate invites us to reflect on our responsibility in reckoning with disciplinary histories, harms, and possibilities. To whom are we giving evidence and toward what ends? For whom are we writing? To whom are we accountable, and in what ways? General Call for Papers Abstract new submissions deadline is May 15 at 3pm est. Meeting registration and AAA membership is NOT required for all participants at the time of submission but will be required if accepted. Start Your Submission: https://www.americananthro.org/AM_CFP

Each summer, the American Anthropological Association offers two internship opportunities funded by member donations. Internships are six weeks in length and usually extend from early July through mid-August. Internships are unpaid, however they are provided housing and a meal/travel stipend. Interns will spend approximately 40 percent of their time working onsite at the AAA offices in Arlington, VA, and the other 60 percent of their time working on-site at one of two locations: The Naval Historic & Heritage Command and The Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 13, 2020 https://www.americananthro.org/internship

The 2019 AAA Summer Interns had an incredible time interning with the AAA this summer! In addition to our posts at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and the Naval History and Heritage Command, we contributed to several research initiatives at the AAA.
