General Description / Special Programs

Anthropology is a program within the department, but all courses and degrees are in Anthropology. A diverse curriculum provides courses in the major subfields of cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, and physical anthropology as well as in the study of important world regions, such as the United States, Latin America, and Africa.

BA/BS Requirements
Majors must meet the general requirements for a baccalaureate degree, in addition to fulfilling the department requirements. This includes 120 hours, (36 advanced). Students must complete 30 semester hours in Anthropology, to include 2302, and two courses selected from ANTH 2301, 2303, and 2304. Majors must also complete ANTH 4310 and 3 hrs at any level. 15 semester hours must be at the 3000 level or above.
